Six cities 

On occasions, various train operating companies hold flash sales offering bargain-priced tickets for a limited period. When Northern recently organised a flash sale, Andy Coward went online to book a bargain day out by train.

The West Midlands Class 323s 

The Class 323 electric multiple units on West Midlands Railway’s Cross City line in Birmingham are set to be replaced by new Alstom Class 730 Aventra EMUs over the coming weeks. Martyn Hilbert presents a pictorial tribute.
