Railwayana.net sells more ’plates for DBS
Railwayana.net held its latest internet auction on February 17-21, and was the first to add a buyer’s premium of 10% on general items and 5% on all nameplates, although to soften the effect the maximum buyer’s premium payable by a bidder in one railwayana.net auction is capped at £150. Prices shown here are the hammer price and do not include the premium in common with all other auction results on these pages.
Several namplets were sold on behalf of DB Schenker with the unique and attractive Venice Simplon Orient Express plate from 47791 commanding at £3,000 price.

Steam nameplates: Astley Hall £6,000 and cabside number (4903) £1,900.

Diesel and electric nameplates:
City of Edinburgh with Badge (43065) £1,600.

Warship plates sells for £6,000
There were quite a few unsold items in the nameplate and totem categories at the Solent Railwayana Auction held on February 27, although Warship Cossack did find a new home after selling for £6,000.

Class 40 worksplate sells for £1, 150
On March 13, Sheffield Railwayana Auctions held its live auction at The Gateway Centre, Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Derby. A good turnout, together with the usual telephone bids, resulted in strong prices achieved on the most desirable items. Worthy of a mention was the worksplate from 40022 Laconia which fetched £1,150 before the addition of buyer’s premium, perhaps the owners of both nameplates were in the room. Another worksplate of note was the Brush Traction Overhauled 1995 plate carried by 56107 which reached £1,100.
